Boyfriend, please

Baggy butts–aka boyfriend jeans–are certainly an acquired taste. It takes countless fitting room meltdowns before finding the perfect pair, and even then you think, “can I really pull these off?” But my advice for rocking the sag is balancing it out with some sexiness. Killer heels and a peep of your midriff is all you need. Or even a crisp white tee with some gladiators would do the job well. Trust me, once you go sag, you never go back. #preach

Biker Chic

Air conditioning. It single-handedly fuels my addiction for jackets–and any other layering piece for that matter. The warmer it gets, the higher the AC goes. The higher the AC, the more jackets I buy. It’s really simple, and might I add logical, no? But lately, I’ve been trying to tame my impulsive third-piece purchases. I’m turning 25, I need to set my priorities straight, save some money, and whatever quarter-life “aha” bullshit we all go through. But the second I laid eyes on this red zipper-encrusted, two-in-one beauty, it was over. I bought it, on a sunny, 92-degree Arizona day, and have never been happier. Happy birthday to me =)

Minty Fresh

Sooo I’m kind of a freak about mint. Mint dark chocolate (Lindt specifically), mint nail polish, breath mints…I love em. No, it’s not the “break-out” color of the season like blush pink or radiant orchid, but mint will forever be my shit. Especially when paired with a striped top with ruffled wrists…which are also my shit. I have a lot of shit.

The boyfriend blazer has definitely been replaced by my new favorite third piece, the trench coat. Although living in AZ isn’t exactly third-piece friendly, this particular trench that I found is super lightweight and tolerable. I’ve definitely been having a 70s moment lately–thank you American Hustle–and have been obsessed with leopard pants and square sunglasses…and the Amy Adams 70s cleavage that I have yet to perfect…

Black Out

THERE…I said it. Every time I hear “I’m trying to stay away from black” I want to shake that person and ask “WHYYY??” There are so many reasons why black is vital, but let me narrow it down to the 3 basic reasons:

  1. It looks good on EVERY ONE. Period.
  2. It always represents a high level of chicness when done the right way.
  3. And most importantly, from the wise words of Jim Gaffigan (and the majority of the earth’s population):

I wear black because its easier than working out.

So next time those anxious thoughts pop up when you see a beautiful black top, blazer or dress…punch it in the face and try that black beauty on. Trust me, it feels so good.
